Digital TV and Mobile Integration

VisionConsult carried out a study for a European regulator on the opportunities for integrating mobile services with a Digital TV network. Opportunities were researched worldwide, a group of 20 experts was identified and interviewed, and the results were published at a major European TV Conference.

Fibre-optic network

VisionConsult undertook market research amongst a number of prospective partners and investors in a new fibre-optic cable link planned between Berlin and Moscow. The aim of the research was twofold: firstly, to provide data on the quantitative market for this project and, secondly, to identify prospective partners. The work consisted of peer-to-peer interviews in 5 different European countries, and introduced a major project partner.

Digital TV Equipment

VisionConsult designed a European market research programme for France, Germany and the UK, to assist our client - the leading manufacturer of digital video editing equipment - analyse the potential market for its products. A total of 750 interviews were carried out in 6 market segments, which assisted the client make key decisions on its European product line and marketing investment.

Satellite Industry

VisionConsult has assisted 2 European satellite manufacturers in the preparation of their bids for major satellite contracts. The support included assisting in the understanding of the real needs of the prospective end client, the markets that it was planning to service, and the priorities of the required technical specifications. Specific support was provided in the preparation of bid documentation. Both bids that VisionConsult supported were successful.

Digital TV

A European telco was investigating the opportunities for introducing a digital satellite television package into a heavily cabled country. A major element was to be the introduction of new interactive services. VisionConsult advised the client on the opportunities for the services, which have been taken into account in the final preparation of business plans.

European TV programming

For this Hollywood Company, VisionConsult prepared a full market entry business plan which was presented to the client and its prospective partners. This assisted the client in taking decisions on the launch of the service, which has been successfully launched in Europe.

Electronic publishing

For this subsidiary of a major newspaper publishing organisation, VisionConsult tracked and analysed the prospective developments in the Convergence markets. This involved the implications of the introduction of digital satellite and terrestrial TV, and the related new technologies such as the Internet, electronic programme guides and conditional access. The client is now a major player in the delivery of interactive services via digital TV.

Digital Audio Broadcasting

VisionConsult undertook research into the markets for a new DAB (digital audio broadcasting) satellite service. VisionConsult prepared and made presentations to some 20 prospective partners and transponder investors, and identified the partners, market opportunities and key niches for this new service.
